Spring in Amsterdam is a happy time. The dark winters give way to the sunny days, colours and more reasons to be outdoors. The best way to enjoy the weather is by taking an idyllic windmill cruise and visiting the Keukenhof Gardens, the world’s largest flower garden.
From Amsterdam, you will travel by bus to Ringvaat Canal located near Keukenhof Gardens, where you will embark on a Windmill Sightseeing cruise that offers spectacular views of the passing scenery full of colourful bulb fields, Dutch countryside villages, and the traditional windmills. Sail along the Kager Lakes area known for its ten unique islands and historical gabled mansions. The boat then will cruise past will take you amid bulb fields and windmill landscapes, apt for those lovely Dutch picture-postcard photographs. Rush to the open decks and take those lovely insta-worthy photographs.
After the 90-minute sightseeing cruise, it will be time to head to the highlight of the tour, the Keukenhof Gardens. A shuttle bus will take you there and on the way will show you a video presentation about Holland and Keukenhof. Once you arrive at the destination, collect your skip-the-line Keukenhof Gardens ticket, dodge past the long queues, and experience the sheer abundance of colour spreading across 32 hectares of land.
Flowers delight, inspire and makes the world go round. And in 2019, it is this ‘Flower Power’ that Keukenhof celebrates in its 70th year. It was in 1969 that the Flower Power movement brought hippies and music together to make peace and not war. Where can be a better place to celebrate the strength of the lovely blooms than Keukenhof. As part of the theme, you will see an additional 50,000 bulbs of the wonderful tulips, grape hyacinths and crocuses laid out. So this season, say it with flowers – Make Love, Not War!
